Fundraising Campaigns
Annual Giving
Annual Giving donations are
crucial in insuring a balanced annual budget. As such, they
are included as a line item in the Operating Budget
annually. Your contribution to this fund will not only
benefit The New School Montessori but it may also be tax deductible, just

The Challenge for Diversity Scholarship
Endowment
The Challenge for
Diversity Scholarship Endowment was established in 1992. It
was started by a gift from an alumni family and additionally funded
by foundations and individuals. The Endowment currently provides
annual scholarship dollars to promote racial diversity.

Sowing Seeds of Stewardship Operating
Endowment
The Independent
Schools Association of the Central States advises that an
independent school such as ours should have an operating
endowment. In May of 2004, the “Sowing the Seeds of
Stewardship” campaign was started to fund the operating
endowment. An operating endowment will do the following for
The New School Montessori:
- It is a tool that will be used to supplement
the income from tuition and other yearly fundraising efforts
- It will provide sustaining, perpetual
resources
- Once established, the principal will grow
and generate increased income over time.

Capital Campaigns
In place of public school bond issues,
independent schools rely upon capital campaigns to support extraordinary expenditures such as building or remodeling projects
and to secure significant endowment funding. Such a campaign
depends on current families as well as alumni, grandparents,
friends and foundation grants. Capital campaigns provided
most of the funding for the purchase and renovation of TNSM in 1989
and for the Growing Room project in 1996/97. We currently
have no Capital Campaigns running.
