TNSM Board Bios

Amanda Adkins |
Amanda Adkins is an Occupational Therapist currently working with pre-primary children, school age students, as well as the elderly. She is new to the board this year. Amanda and her partner Jennifer Adkins have a daughter, Aidan, who started as a three year old and is currently in her last year in the 3 to 6 classroom.
“I am not a native of Cincinnati and with the number of school options available, I investigated many schools. Montessori education at The New School was the overwhelming first choice for Aidan. I love that TNSM truly follows the Montessori practice of ‘follow the child’, and have seen this in action when Aidan had a shift in what she was excited about learning. I look forward to interaction with the amazing New School community and serving on the board in the coming year.”

Bill Creviston |
My wife Julia and I have three young children (Carter, Celia, and Joseph) who each happily attend The New School Montessori. I joined the TNSM Board of Trustees in 2006-07 and currently serve as the Chairman of the Endowment Committee. I also serve on the Finance Committee and on the Facilities Committee.
I am employed with the investment management firm of Sena, Weller, Rohs, Williams in downtown Cincinnati where I have worked as a portfolio manager since 1995. I have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Capital University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Denison University.
“After observing many of the Montessori programs in the Cincinnati area, we were originally drawn to The New School primarily by its sincere commitment to developing the whole child through a rich curriculum and very devoted staff. Now that we are more involved, we also especially appreciate the warm sense of community and parental involvement. This is a very exciting time for our school, and I look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead.”

Tammy Maring |
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Thanks to my parents, I had the great privilege of attending a Montessori school from preschool through 8th grade. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo and my Master’s degree from the Medical College of Ohio. I currently work as an Occupational Therapist in local nursing homes and hospitals. I live in Anderson Township with my husband, Scott, and our children Matthew and Christopher who both attend The New School Montessori.
I am involved in the Hospitality, Marketing and Fundraising Committees at TNSM. I enjoy being part of a group of committed, energized parents who take so much pride and ownership in their children’s education. I am honored to give back to a school community that has enriched my children’s lives in so many ways. TNSM seamlessly blends an academically rigorous program with love and compassion. I know when I drop my kids off at TNSM, they are being cared for and nurtured as they would be at home with me.

Sara Neyer |
My husband, John and I love to be part of the school community by volunteering. We feel that the best way to show our girls how important school is to us is for them to see us spending time working to make their school successful. Already, I have gotten to know students and families by chaperoning a field trip, assisting Robin in the art room, directing the first level play, working on the auction and participating in the fundraising committee.
My professional background is in non-profit development and I look forward to putting my experience to work for TNSM. Locally, I have done work with Cincinnati Ballet, The Resident Home, Grailville, Seton Family Center and Ohio Valley Voices, among others. I have experience in development planning, annual fund development, grant writing, staffing/training and fundraising strategic planning. It has been delightful to work with the group of very dedicated parents who are raising funds for the school. The committee has great ideas and I would welcome the chance to continue working with the fundraising committee at the board level.

first year on the Board.
"The New School Montessori's Montessori-based curriculum is a
jewel in Cincinnati, and yet like all private education, TNSM
faces challenges from economic, social, and academic
pressures. I am interested in serving on the Parent
Board to assist in the implementation of a facilities plan
that addresses both the short and long term needs of TNSM
campus. In addition, I can focus my background in
education, technology and business to facilitate and
formulate responses to the challenges facing TNSM in order to
preserve and enhance the delivery of The New School Montessori's
commitment to its students, faculty and community."

Eric Ross |
My wife, Janet and I visited schools around the city and spoke with many people to select a school for our son Edward. The New School Montessori was our overwhelming choice for multiple reasons with the most important reason being the enthusiastic recommendations from friends whose children were attending TNSM. We haven't been disappointed and Edward is having a great time with his TNSM friends and enjoying a diverse set of experiences offered by the school. We look forward to our youngest son, Evan joining his big brother at TNSM soon.
I serve on the Finance and Endowment committees. I am a Certified Financial Planner and a Principal with Sequoia Wealth Counsel. I specialize in helping families manage their assets to achieve a more fulfilling future for themselves and their families. I volunteer with Junior Achievement to teach financial literacy classes in local high schools and I am a Volunteer Educator with the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.
